COLT Awards

Congratulations to the COLT 2011 Award winners!

Teacher Incentive Grant Winner- Melinda Barnes of Duanesburg Central School                      and  Elthea Sadlon's student- Josh Paul for the COLT Student Achievement Award. 

They were be recognized at the May banquet.                                                                                                                                                   

Teacher Incentive Grant

The first is the Teacher’s Incentive grant that is an award of up to $150 that may be used for classroom, language club and/or language honor society programs.

Teachers interested in implementing new techniques or purchasing materials to enrich language teaching and learning in the LOTE classroom, but are lacking funds, should apply.

The award winner will be announced in the Spring COLT Newsletter and will receive their check at the COLT Banquet in May.

Student Recognition Award

The second award is a Student Recognition award. The $50 cash prize will be awarded to a student that may have any or all of the following criteria:

• Outstanding achievement in the foreign language
• Outstanding effort
• Appreciation of the value of studying other languages and cultures
• An interest in pursuing foreign language study.

The Student Award winner will be announced in the Spring COLT Newsletter and will receive a check for $50.
